Springfield Downtown Main Street
Streetscape Improvements
Springfield, MA
The Cecil Group was responsible
for the landscape design for comprehensive improvements
of Springfields Main Street. This project
encompasses complete reconstruction of the streets
and sidewalks for the majority of the downtown,
including new landscape features, graphics and streetlighting.
The overall design approach is an extension of The
Cecil Groups previous landscape and streetscape
master plan that it prepared for the entire downtown.
The design approach strengthened connections among
the Citys downtown districts through coordinated
materials, plantings and amenities.

Belmont Waverley Trail
Belmont, MA
Through a grant from DHCD,
The Cecil Group assisted the Town of Belmont in
developing a concept for an interpretive trail through
the Waverley Square neighborhood. The intent of
the trail is to highlight historic, economic, and
civic accomplishments through signage, banners,
kiosks and painted trail markings. The Cecil Group
also worked with the Town to provide landscape and
urban design concepts that would advance Belmonts
initiative to create the Waverley Trail as a green
line connecting the Butler School, Waverley
Square, and Beaver Brook Preservation.
